Fiona Joy Hawkins is an Australian composer, vocalist, and pianist, who uses the stage-name Fiona Joy.She was born in Cessnock, New South Wales, to a creative family,and trained as a classical pianist.
New Age artist Fiona Joy brings many gifts and skills to her solo piano performance of the title song on Story of Ghosts. Your mind will fill in the pictures as you take the ride. With skill and confidence, she sets the mood with a minor melody, then adds upper harmony and begins altering the pace gently. In a bit over three minutes, she has you imagining downstairs and upstairs, unexplained sounds, sad ghosts making their nightly visits.
Then, “Story of Angels” provides a companion piece with just enough changes to the harmony and tempo to signify a different kind of spirit-being. Elsewhere in the album, Fiona creates portraits of “The White Light,” a “Blue Dream,” and “The Solo Tango.”

Blue Coast Records, known for their exceptional hi-resolution acoustic recordings, was founded by 5 time Grammy nominated producer/engineer Cookie Marenco and engineer Jean Claude Reynaud in 2007. The label is known for their 96k hi-resolution recordings, using the labels’ patent pending recording technique Extended Sound Environment (E.S.E.). The album, 'Signature - Solo', is Fiona Joy's first solo piano album recorded live to analog tape with Blue Coast Records.Though her native country is Australia, Fiona Joy is known throughout the world for her melodic songs and lush arrangements. Some say she picks up where the acclaimed Windham Hill pianist, George Winston, left off. One of her songs – “Grace” – was chosen to be remixed for Winds of Samsara, a collaborative album by renowned flautist Wouter Kellerman and artist/producer Ricky Kej, which recently achieved #1 on the Billboard charts in New Age. The tracks are in 24/96 Studio Masters WAV form. It's a rare chance of experiencing the best sound available for audiophiles. Sure not to be missed.
